More than 400 years of passion for wine
The history of Ferrer Wines is rooted in a family tradition dating back to 1616, when the Ferrer family began cultivating vineyards at the La Freixeneda estate in Sant Quintí de Mediona. Since then, a deep connection to the land, respect for origin, and the pursuit of excellence have guided every generation. In 1914, cava production began at the family estate of Can Sala, with the addition of a historic late 19th-century press that is still used today to craft Can Sala Single Estate Cavas, reflecting a pioneering spirit that has always combined tradition, precision, and innovation.

Over the years, the Ferrer family embraced a strong and ambitious entrepreneurial vision, expanding its project into some of the most prestigious wine appellations in Spain and around the world. Thanks to the drive of José Ferrer Sala, the group grew with sensitivity and determination, establishing itself as one of the international benchmarks in the wine industry while building a legacy founded on quality, innovation, and respect for tradition.
The sixth generation carrying the legacy forward
Today, Pedro Ferrer Noguer, the sixth generation of the family and the group’s president, continues this journey with a clear mission: to craft wines that express the soul of each grape variety, every terroir, and every landscape. His deep knowledge of the wine industry and his commitment to Spanish wine drive a project in constant evolution, where tradition and a contemporary vision coexist naturally.
Ferrer Wines: the union of a great winemaking legacy
As a result of this trajectory, Ferrer Wines was founded in 2019, a project that brings together and gives identity to the group’s wineries. Today, Ferrer Wines comprises seven owned wineries located in some of the most distinctive wine regions: Can Sala, Cavas Hill, and La Freixeneda in Penedès; Orube in Rioja Alavesa; Valdubón in Ribera del Duero and Rueda; Vionta in Rías Baixas and Monterrei; and Finca Ferrer in the Uco Valley (Argentina).
They are joined by emblematic brands such as Conde de Caralt, Rigol, and Solar Viejo, as well as a carefully curated selection of wines from other appellations and countries, including the Champagne Abelé 1757 and Prosecco La Marca.
