Vionta was born in the heart of the Val do Salnés, in Meaño, one of the historic Albariño wine regions and one of the areas with the longest winemaking tradition in the Rías Baixas.
Founded in 2013 and bathed by the influence of the Ría de Arousa and the Atlantic Ocean, the winery blends seamlessly into the Galician landscape after more than a decade crafting wines that reflect the authentic character of this land.
Here, the mild, humid Atlantic climate, the constant sea breeze, and the sandy, mineral-rich soils create the ideal conditions for producing fresh, precise wines full of character.
Vionta is the winery with an island's name.
Its name comes from Vionta Island, a small, protected islet located at the entrance to the Arousa Estuary, within the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia.
From the winery, the views open up to the estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, directly connecting the landscape, the sea, and the origin of its wines.
Like the island itself, Vionta embodies the Atlantic spirit of Galicia: nature, salinity, wind, and a profound connection to the ocean.
Atlantic Terroir
Vionta wines originate in the Val do Salnés, the historic birthplace of the Albariño variety and one of the most emblematic sub-regions of the Rías Baixas D.O.
The proximity of the Atlantic Ocean shapes each vineyard. The humidity, mild temperatures, and marine influence favor a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes, preserving their natural freshness and aromatic intensity.
The sandy, mineral-rich soils contribute tension, verticality, and a subtle saline character that defines the style of Vionta wines: Atlantic, elegant, and full of freshness.
Wines that look to the Sea
We craft wines that express the Galician Atlantic landscape from a contemporary perspective, combining freshness, precision, and personality.
Vionta Albariño, aged for a minimum of 6 months on its lees, stands out for its balance between freshness and complexity, establishing itself as one of the appellation’s leading wines.
Bosque de Fuscallo, an Albariño aged in oak barrels, draws inspiration from the cloud forests and eucalyptus trees surrounding the winery, uniting wine, sea, and wood.
Vionta’s commitment to Galician varieties also extends to Vionta Godello, produced under the Monterrei D.O. and aged for a minimum of 3 months on its lees, contributing elegance and aromatic richness.
