Description
VINTAGE
In 2020, the winter was short and mild with little rainfall, with the spring drought continuing. The summer was hot. Despite an early bud break and flowering at risk dates, the harvest presented medium-sized fruits in excellent condition, with high phenolic ripeness, moderate acidity and high alcohol content.
PRODUCTION
The wine is produced with grapes from vineyards over 30 years old, with low yields. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature to extract colour and tannins, preserving the fruity aromas. Maceration lasts between 15 and 21 days, and ageing takes place for 15 months in American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels.
TASTING NOTES
Red wine of intense colour with bluish tones, indicative of quality ageing. On the nose, fruity and intense aromas of redcurrants, blackberries, cocoa and liquorice can be perceived. On the palate, it has a powerful yet pleasant entry, balanced with good acidity and an appropriate alcohol level. The mature tannins evolve elegantly, leaving a long finish.
PAIRING & STORAGE
Ideal to accompany a variety of dishes, this wine is perfect with cured meats, vegetables in tempura, stews, game meat and young cheeses. It is recommended to serve between 14 and 16 degrees to enjoy its qualities to the fullest.
