Description
Valdubón X was born inspired by the tradition of Champagne’s vins de réserve. Each edition is unique and reflects a contemporary interpretation of Ribera del Duero, where fruit, freshness, complexity and ageing coexist in balance without giving up a distinct personality of its own.
Made from a careful selection of wines from different vintages and high-altitude vineyards, Valdubón X represents a modern vision of excellence in Ribera del Duero, combining structure, elegance and ageing potential.
Vineyard
The grapes come from vineyards located in the Burgos area of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, in the municipalities of Fuentelcésped, Santa Cruz and Pardilla.
These vineyards have an average age of 30 years and sit on red clay soils that provide structure, volume and depth to the wine. The high altitude favours a slow, balanced ripening, preserving the natural freshness of the grape and allowing it to reach excellent phenolic ripeness and great aromatic intensity.
Winemaking
The harvest is carried out by hand, followed by a rigorous selection of the grapes on a sorting table. After a cold pre-fermentation maceration for 6 days at 6 ºC, alcoholic fermentation takes place under temperature control. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels.
The wine ages for 15.7 months in French oak barrels. Its blending is based on the Cuvée de Réserve (CVC) concept, combining different selected vintages to bring balance between structure, freshness and complexity.
Tasting note
Deep cherry-red colour.
On the nose it stands out for its aromatic intensity, with notes of ripe black fruit accompanied by toasted, spiced nuances and delicate hints of liquorice.
On the palate it shows a smooth, enveloping entry, with good structure, balanced acidity and polished tannins. The finish is long, elegant and persistent.
