These Cavas de Paraje Calificado from the Ferrer Wines Group have been awarded the Grand Gold at Bacchus 2025 and Gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Moreover, Vinyes de Can Sala 2015 has been named Sparkling Wine of the Year.
Ferrer Wines proudly celebrates the recent recognitions awarded to its Cavas de Paraje Calificado Vinyes de Can Sala, distinguished at two of the most prestigious international wine competitions.
Vinyes de Can Sala 2015 received the Grand Gold at Bacchus 2025, and was also chosen as the Sparkling Wine of the Year by the Spanish Wine Tasters’ Union (Unión Española de Catadores). Meanwhile, the exclusive Magnum edition of Vinyes de Can Sala Rosé 2014 earned a gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2025.
These awards consolidate the journey of a project that, in the words of Pedro Ferrer Noguer, president of Ferrer Wines, “is much more than wine: Can Sala is a testimony to our family history and represents the purest essence of Mediona, in the Penedès — where tradition and excellence come together to give life to truly unique cavas.”
Since its foundation in the 19th century, Can Sala has embodied values such as respect for the land, patience, and meticulous artisanal winemaking. With long aging and the Paraje Calificado designation, its sparkling wines stand out for their strong personality, elegance, and complexity.
With Can Sala and the historic estate of La Freixeneda — dating back to 1616 — Ferrer Wines brings together the two wineries where the Ferrer family’s winemaking legacy began. This milestone reinforces the group’s commitment to authenticity, quality, and its origins.
Furthermore, for the second consecutive year, Ferrer Wines has been honored with the award for Sparkling Wine of the Year. In 2024, this accolade was granted to Cavas Hill 1887 Brut Nature Organic, further reaffirming the strength of the project and its dedication to excellence.
